Garfield Local Post Office

AUSTRALIA POST - Servicing Garfield for almost 137 years
The Garfield Post Office originally opened as Cannibal Creek on 1 May 1886 and was later renamed Garfield in 1887.
In 2007 Tony Lock, who worked for Australia Post as Delivery Manager for thirty odd years, and his wife Leanne purchased the Licenced Post Office and operated this from their home on Main Street in Garfield.

Over the years the building became too crowded and in 2013 they re-located to their new and much larger premisses, the old newsagency building, at 77 Main Street, Garfield.

Your Garfield local post office is a multi-award-winning business run by Tony and Leanne, together with their sons Brad and Jarrod and staff member Michelle. They were named Post Office of the Year both in 2007 and in 2015 and named runner-up in 2018.

Leanne and Michelle
Something most people don't realise is that the Garfield Post Office is not just a post office! It is not only just a place to collect your mail and parcels from and buy some stamps, but it also has a variety of envelopes in all sizes; stationery supplies; printer ink cartridges; SD cards and USB Sticks of varied capacities. If you're thirsty you can grab a drink or an ice cream, you can even collect your local newspapers.

"We are definitely a One-Stop shop for almost anything you need. Most of the services available are listed below, if there is anything else we can assist you with please drop in or give us a call and we will be happy to help you out." said Leanne.

They can also issue and top up your Myki Card; print VLine tickets for Bairnsdale trips and issue tickets from Seniors Vouchers. Click here for more details.
